Another key secret to success

OK, so I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment *smile* and am being asked to pass on these really simple, yet impactful truths about the way I view myself and the things I do in terms of being successful.

Just as an aside, we all have our own models for what "success" actually looks like, obviously, when I am talking about this topic, I am totally influenced by my own definition *wry grin*

So today, I was confronted with remembering another key to living a successful life. It is so simple I actually overlooked it as a key factor...duh.

Speaking kindly to yourself and loving your whole self from your every particle is one of the BIGGEST contributors to being successful.

There is simply NO point to putting yourself down, punishing yourself, or dwelling on mistakes and perceived rejections. The only thing this does to and for you, is to slow you down and undermine your confidence in taking the next step.

Being human, there WILL be mistakes, there ARE moments I am sure I would have liked to choose another path or another way of dealing with a situation. There are times when I feel TOTALLY lost, and places I wish with all of my heart that I had NEVER put myself in or chosen (Reading the fine print on the contract far more closely next time *laughing).

However, what I know now (finally) is that NONE of these things has the power to stop me, to dissuade me or to prevent me from seeking my truth and my successful life. None of these things are worth punishing myself relentlessly for, nor are they necessarily moments I "had to go through" even though they have certainly acted to show me my strengths. None of these things, "mistakes" if you will can define who I choose to be. They are only moments in time, not great ones, but all the better for that.

Forgive instantly, love unconditionally and respect yourself for not only who you are, but the person you choose to be from this moment on.

A key secret to succeeding in life...

There is no one secret that can be passed from one person to another, that will guarantee or prove successful for every person. This is not a "one size fits all" kind of life (awesomely cool really!). However, having said that, I have found there are some key ingredients which, when added to your overall mix, most certainly add together for having the highest possible chances.

One of these things is looking at the list of things you wish to achieve, from the biggest (reaching thousands with my words of healing and message of love, having children and parents read my stories and discovering the magic within) to the smallest (getting the laundry done and my four year old pixie in bed at a decent hour) and then make some decisions.

Your time is NOT an infinite resource, each moment in time is quite precious and should be treated as such. Making decisions about how you prioritise your time and therefore the things that are the most important to you, is a great way to start ensuring that when you spend time on things they are important things and that you are maximising the time you spend.

There have been times I have been so wrapped up in being supper Mumma, in having home baked goods for the lunch box, having a spotless and ordered house, and being extra super organised about getting us here, and being there etc.  I often find, during these times I am pleased with my "Superness" and yet, these are the times that, when my little one goes to bed, I realise we didn't do much playing, or spending time together.... *REALLY sad face* In short, I realise my prioritising of my time did NOT match with the things I feel are most important, and I feel awful!!!!!

I look at my time as a commodity, valuable beyond compare (and the time of others also). My "to do" list is filled with things I feel are the most important, and this is updated daily to change with my changing priorities.

With this, there are also a LOT of things that I have NO time for, refuse to make time for, and account no priority to at all....

Complaining about "stuff"
Negativity
Self-Doubt
Things I have no control over and am powerless to change.
Worry
Stress
Nastiness

...and a whole heap more, but I know you get the point *smile*

If you don't feel as though you are walking fast enough towards you goal, have a GOOD look at where you are spending the very precious commodity of your time and see if making a few changes might not improve matters.

After all, the clearer you set your intentions and focus on those things you wish to see more of, the faster the universe acts to create the opportunities you need.

Can you feel it, can you feel it?

In my head right now is that song that goes, "Can you feel it? Can you feel it....can you feeeel it?" I have no idea who wrote or sang in, sometime in the 80's...right now though, a very poignant message in many ways.

Over the last few days I have made a really conscious effort and decision to no longer shelter the whole of me from the world. A lot of the time, up until now, I do not take my whole self to places. The brightest light shining part of me, the part that is the most thoroughly connected and a little bit vulnerable to hurt, gets protected by a crystal shield every time I leave the protection on my sacred space...my home.

No more (well mostly *smile*)

I have decided this for many reasons, the most important and influential of which was a message, and urging from my divine team. This provoked some interesting commentary from me starting with, "You want me to do WHAT??????? WHEN???? You mean ALLLLLL the time????" *laugh* It took some convincing and MANY signs before i would follow through on this one.

I am sure you can predict the results from previous posts...smile.

Yep, you guessed correctly, as soon as i followed the signs and instructions, and walked out into the world shining brightly and letting all people see the all of me, I noticed a magic shift in the winds. Our power/ability to influence each other is astronomical, and is even stronger when shining the full and loving intent of our divine selves.

Nothing seems hard or even impossible. People have responded to me beautifully where at other times they may not have....magic.

I feel we are on the verge of a mass consciousness shift...there are more and more people waking up (So to speak) to the true them, to remembering the love and majestic moments that occur when we listen to the inner voice guiding and protecting us....can you feel it?

It's all about perspective really

Exponential learning curve for me in the last few months has been the concept of choosing the way I view potentially negative situations. There are a lot of times in my profession (my real world profession of teaching that is) where I am confronted with massive amounts of ego, of people taking things personally and then seeking revenge and general nastiness.

I have often struggled in coping with these situations without feeling large amounts of heart hurt. It makes me feel terribly sad to see the way human beings treat each other, it is only us, of all creation, that has this incredible sense of cruelty towards others of our kind. *sad

I choose a different perspective, that has been long in the learning/remembering and understanding of. Often I have heard people say, "Just smile, it will either make them warm to you, or annoy them, either way, you win" While I don't necessarily subscribe to this exactly, the intent is sound.

During a particularly trying time of judgement and conflict with and from others, I finally found myself in a place to practise seeing differently in a way that was easy.

I have a fantastic imagination and I bought it into play in this defining moment. *smile* It was like this; a beautiful light bringer friend of mine sees the love energy we share as brightly coloured bubbles (awesome right?) and so, when I felt myself subjected to some not very pleasant "stuff" I pictured myself blowing love bubbles at them. Soon, I saw the tantrums as amusing rather than annoying, I saw the nasty comments as a reflection of their lack of self worth rather than a personal affront to me (I know this is still a judgement...baby steps...*smile*) and I looked at all of these behaviours from INSIDE the biggest, most multi-coloured love bubble you could ever imagine. It worked. I came home feeling NO impact whatsoever from THEIR CHOICES...none!

There was a moment or two where even the love bubble trick was not working, and in those moments I sang a little nonsensical ditty inside my head that went something along the lines of, "There's a light being here, and another over there, there is light in their clothes, their is light in their hair, there's a lot of lovely light in the air, everywhere, it's a lovely kind of day."  Who couldn't be smiling after singing this to themselves? *Laugh* This served to remind me that even though the current actions chosen were not from a place of love, that the amazing light bringer was in there still, and that was who I would choose to see and direct my attention to.

The FREEDOM I feel today is amazing....I released my need to judge others for their actions, embraced the love and light that resides within us all regardless of our current choices...and I did it all by singing and imagining big bubbles of love...how easy is that!?

Are you giving people permission?

I LOVE this quote:

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent: ~Eleanor Roosevelt.

I love it for so many different reasons, the main one being the power it transfers into my hands when I read it.

We have all had people in our lives from time to time whom we feel gave us the impression that we were/are less than, who gave us the impression that what we could give, was never going to be enough.

All of us, at some time or another, will have a crisis of confidence based on what we believe others perception of us to be.

Each time I have experienced something like this, a sign from the divine pops up, like this quote, and reminds me that the only judgement I should be concerned with is my own...and even then, first making sure my own opinion is not reinforced by the belief of others.

In understanding that it is through giving people permission that we allow them to impact on us, we receive all of the power for our purpose and direction back into our own hands. Denying people permission to judge, or for their judgements to impact on us, is a very basic first step into growing into the co-creators of our own destiny and outcomes.

People have a right to their own opinion, just as I have a right not to acknowledge theirs *smile* I have no real desire to know what other people are thinking of me or saying about me (unless of course that it's that I am amazingly awesome *laugh*) It's their opinion, and most of the time, the people saying stuff about me, know nothing of me anyway. So why should their opinion count for anything?

Take back your permissions, refuse to acknowledge the negativity of others and to accept THEIR judgements of you. Don't listen, don't accept the information if someone tries to tell you, don't repeat it, dwell on it, or give it any power over you at all. Reaffirm your own self worth, look in the mirror and remember that you are AMAZING, and that everyday, you bring a beauty and a light into the world in a way no one else can.

With love, light and respect

Are you waiting for the perfect time?

There are a lot of things I just don't start at times, reason being? Well, I'm waiting for the perfect time, I'm waiting for all of the obstacles in my way to be cleared, and I'm waiting until I can come up with no more objections........

You know the end of that story right? Yep...those things...they don't ever get done.

Someone told me once that I would need several life times in order to do all of the things I want to get done and to pursue all of the things I am interested in...perhaps that's true...but I think I have found the key to getting it all done in this life time with plenty of time to think up other things to do on the way....

You want to know what it is?

I no longer wait.

There IS no such thing as the "perfect time" other than right now!  So, there is no waiting, I don't wait for all the obstacles to be removed, for the path to be clear, for the problems to be solved and all of the pros and cons discussed...not me. I dive in head first, I follow my path, my heart, my impulses and my team and just go, go, go while the impulse has a hold of me. I create, I make, I do, i decide and I just keep on going until the job is done.

While doing this, running headlong, most of the things I saw as obstacles before i began...well they turned out just to be excuses, because when I got to them, most of them were no longer there.

Often, if we feel like we need to wait for the perfect time, it means that our "brain" is trying to keep us locked in our comfort zone, because it thinks it's safer...it might be, but without jumping in, there is no great gain either.

So don't wait, leap in, follow the impulse, walk your path...no, scratch that, RUN, and have a magical journey.

Seriously exciting and energising stuff

Firstly, let me offer my apologies for my prolonged and unexpected absence. There are moments in time for writing, moments in time for growing, for listening, for changing, for thinking for feeling etc. I write these posts from my heart, as I am guided to do. I never intended for there to be such a long absence between postings, but hey...you gotta do what you've gotta do...and what I had to do was to grow... *smile*

So many different things have been happening over the last month or so, chapters closing, doors opening, a new story burgeoning (seriously exciting) and growth for me as a person.

I have taken a lot of time on my own to delve into the direction I wish to take and to feel my way through some obstacles.

I have discovered many secrets to being a better me, and have also learnt some more about healing myself of hurts both past and present.

Don't worry, I will most certainly be sharing these things with you over time...trust me, it's too much all at once *laugh*

The one thing I focused a lot of energy on and spent a great deal of time in contemplating and talking to the team about was/is the direction I am currently taking. I set my intentions for the year we have burst into all of a sudden, and am walking that path already.

It was quite a simple process really, although at the time it seemed magnificent and huge *wry grin* as I suppose all things just recently remembered seem to be.

I sat myself down in a quiet spot with pen and paper and wrote my way through the year that had been; the heartaches, the trying times, the lack of understandings, the joy, the sorrows, the uplifting and the moments that seemed to drop out from underneath me. I wrote and wrote and wrote. Page upon page of the year that was poured forth. In short (sort of *wry grin*) I sat down and wrote myself a letter about the journey travelled. I couldn't help but feel uplifted by the number of pages pouring out of me. The fact that some of those pages detailed some not so pleasant moments was/is irrelevant ..I thought to myself, "Just look at how much I experienced!"

I set that letter aside, no need to read it further, I lived it after all. Having put aside the moments that I had already walked through, I looked to the moments to come and set my heart on a mission. The journey? Who am I....

On small pieces of paper, I wrote actions that the me I wish to be would take, for example, "Choose to forgive even though no apology was offered," and "love unconditionally and without stopping to discover if the other is worthy." and other such things. This is the person I AM, I told myself. This jar of papers are my self guide, in moments when the way doesn't seem as clear as it does now, I will be reading those pieces of paper to remind myself and put me back on the path.

I then decorated a second jar titled "2013". While I would love to take the credit for this one, I didn't come up with the idea *smile* it came from a Facebook message. This jar started with nothing in it, however, as a beautiful, wonderful, magical experience happens to me throughout the year, I will be writing it on a piece of paper and popping it into that jar. As the year progresses, the jar will continue to fill and then this New Year's Eve, I will open the jar and relive all the magic of 2013 and rejoice...great place to end and to begin.

Three small things that I could accomplish with relatively small amount of effort that have acted to propel me into 2013 with freshness, rejuvenation and hope....FANTASTIC way to begin.

A lot of stuff happening on the work front too (my real work that is...the work of being a light bringer *laugh*) and a lot of exciting things to follow here *does a happy dance, clapping her hands and singing a tune*

I would love to hear the events that have bought you into this new moment...feel free to share.

With extreme amounts of love and light

P.S. If you feel like a dose of unconditional love right now...feel free to pop in on the new facebook page run by myself and an amazingly angelic fellow light bringer called "Love Bubbles" https://www.facebook.com/pages/Love-Bubbles/405815306169457?fref=ts

Celebrate who you are

I am often my own worst critic, which in some ways stands to reason. You see, no one knows me as well as I do, so, naturally, I know all of my "flaws" and "imperfections" better than someone else knows them too *smile*

One thing I know and have faith in though, is that I was created a perfect being, and I am still a perfect being. So, while there are things I would desire and work towards changing (I could stand being a little less judgemental at times) I also know that there are so many things to celebrate about being me.

I don't wait for birthdays and Christmas or any other special occasion to celebrate and rejoice in the amazing things about me, and I most certainly don't wait any more for anyone else to point those things out to me *grin*

When I come to a new understanding, I celebrate, when I successfully harvest the bounty in my veggie garden, I celebrate, when I make a great decision, I celebrate, when I follow my divine team and listen to my heart, I celebrate and so on and so on....

Look into your heart, REALLY look, and you will find all of the magical, wonderful, amazing, beautiful, inspiring things there are to celebrate about being you!!!!!

When we do this, when we take time to celebrate being who we are right now, we are sending amazing waves of gratitude and love out into the universe. In sending these thoughts out, we acknowledge all of the things we are thankful about.

The laws of the universe state that you get more of the things you think the most about. Focusing on the beauty and the reasons to rejoice being you, tells the universe you want more of those things that make you amazing...and so it is!

Don't spoil your present

One of the strangest things I have come across is the "live in the moment" type philosophy...I mean, I HAVE to be super organised well in advance, I simply MUST plan ahead and have back up plans in place in case the original falls through. If I don't, well, things just don't run smoothly, I get a feeling of immense stress and things REALLY start to go pear shaped from there...so HOW can I "live in the moment/" *she says with contempt and judgement* *sigh*

I think upon this moment, which was for me not so long ago, and I just have to *sigh* loudly! I answer my own question, "You feel this way because you didn't truly understand the concept silly."

Indeed I did not, and sometimes even still, I don't fully understand.

My new understanding of the thought, "Live in the moment" is that I can choose to enjoy every minute that passes (or as many as I feel I can) and not spend time worrying about "what ifs?", missed opportunities, failures, embarrassments, what I did do, didn't do, will soon do, may very well do and all of the rest...

I can make plans, set goals, create pathways to my hearts content (and indeed I do *smile*). What I choose NOT to do, is spend time in worry, stress and in listening to my brain and ego throw out all sorts of scenarios in order to frighten me into staying comfortable.

Don't spoil your present by fearing the future.

When you've tried everything else...

You know, it sometimes may seem like I have all the answers, that I am confidently striding my chosen path with an amazing team and everything going my way...only one part of that story is true 100% of the time, and that is that I have an amazing team behind me...as for the rest....

While over the years I have learnt, relearn, forgotten, learnt again many, many different strategies for my healing and being tool kit, there are also moments when NOTHING seems to work. I described one of those moments not very long ago in a post about the world dropping out from under me...it really felt like it did!

While often I may have a word of advice, comfort or healing for others and know EXACTLY what to do or say for another soul to move the next step...there are times when I cannot (maybe choose not??) to hear those same words for me....

I have the "one size fits all" solution to this very problem. The ONE thing that works no matter what the situation, the moment, the feeling...

Surrender.

Let it all go. Trust. Believe...and keep doing all of these things without trying to understand, to know, to change, to do...and keep surrendering it all no matter what, no matter the temptation to get involved, to take action, to be a part of, to change, to influence or other wise control an outcome...

Surrender

When I think a day might be terrible...

There are some days, and I know we've all had them, where I wake up, think of the day ahead, and instead of being filled with gratitude and delight for the day to come, I feel a sense of dread or foreboding. These times are usually when I have something to do that I feel may be unpleasant.

Having had enough lessons now in the power of thoughts *wry grin* I choose not to dwell on the negative thoughts my brain might be trying to convince me are the events to come.

Instead, i choose to send forth love into the day ahead of me. I consciously project love energy and positivity into the day imagining that there is a rosy gold light coming from me, travelling down the time line into the rest of the day...all this before I get out of bed. *smile*

Any moment I feel could be unpleasant is layered with love, healing, forgiveness and the expectation that things will turn out well. Then, as I approach the moment, I imagine seeing all of this amazing wonderfulness waiting for me there where I sent it earlier.

This visualisation helps to calm my fears, distance myself from the emotions I choose not to feel, and to have a sense of expectation rather than dread or fear.

As is the nature and laws of the divine universe, the things we focus on the most are what we will actually achieve.

A GREAT example is a supervision class I was asked to take. This is where a teacher goes in to take over from another teacher because they are away; so the class is not your own, the subject is often one you're not qualified to teach, there is no rapport with the students a lot of the time, and students usually see this as an opportunity to show their least angelic faces...after all, why not if you can get away with it? *grin* I looked at the class list and did a bit of a mental shudder. I looked at the subject and thought, "I am well out of my depth here." I thought to myself, "this could get ugly!"

Giving myself a shake, I immediately snipped off this thread of thought and started visualising what I expected to happen in a positive and loving way. I sent my love before me, and had the most awesome and amazing lesson with a group of students I don't usually have much contact with. I got to praise their efforts, thank them for their courtesy and consideration and reward them by taking them out from class a few minutes early to lunch!!!!!!

Awesome!

Committment

Often over the last few days I have had cause to look at the things I am committed to and also the process through which I make commitments.

Obviously, (or maybe not to some) the commitments we make to ourselves should be our first priority. It is when we are ignoring these commitments, or haven't made any at all, that the world starts to unravel a bit.

I LOVE my friends, I really do, they are more than just friends, they share a part of me that not everyone gets to see. However, I also know, that at times, totally unbeknown  to them, they can take advantage of me. This is not a malicious and nasty thing, in fact, if we were to play the blame game (not one I choose actually) then it would be all down to me since we teach people how to treat us. It is through me saying "yes" when I feel "no" and vice versa, that these things happen.

Periodically, and it seems now is one of those times, *smile* I take time to review the commitments I am making to myself. One of the ways I choose to do this is to sit down with pen and paper and write a set of wedding vows to me. Sounds weird? Think about it this way, wedding vows are the commitments you make to a person you love with your whole heart, body and soul; they are the most important person in your world and you wish to publicly acknowledge that right? Otherwise, why would you marry them? Well then, YOU are the same, precious and beloved being and your commitment to yourself should be no less heartfelt and genuine.

In neglecting this part of our contract with ourselves and our divine team, we are expressing to the universe that what we want, what we need and who we are don't matter as much as other people! This is not the message I wish to send out. The result is that people will inadvertently  and overtly take advantage of us and ask more than we are willing to give.

So, on that note, I am going to sit down right now and write those vows to myself, starting with some REALLY important ones:

  • I promise to respect my personal boundaries, acknowledge that I am a perfect and divine being and that I have the right to say "no" when I need to without feeling guilty.
  • I promise to believe that what I need and who I am is important and to take time out for myself.
  • I promise to only say positive things about myself and show the highest regard for me as a person.
  • I promise to forgive myself when I make mistakes, and know that next time, I will do the very best I can.
  • I promise to acknowledge that while sometimes I do not live up to my own expectations, that I am doing the best I can do with the current skills I have, and I will not punish myself.

There are more, but I thought I would share the ones at the top of my list.

Other humans

All the time I am reminding myself that while I may not be a perception of perfect, in the eyes and heart of the divine (the ONLY place I will accept judgement from) I am a perfect being who is blessed and abundant. It is through viewing myself as if through the eyes of the divine, that I can/am coming to accept the lessons I remember and am reminded of.

As I thought about this today, and events over the past few days of my earthly existence  that a bit of a bomb shell hit me, even though this is not new information to me.

One of the reasons that I do my very best, even though I am human and do not always succeed, to stay away from judging others, even when I find their actions so abhorrent to my own set of ideals or moral compass, is really clear to me now.

The reason I walk a path that mandates non-judgement and forgiveness and love in all things at all times (to the best of my human ability) is because while all those things I said are true about me; and I quote, "I am a perfect being who is blessed and abundant," this is also true of every OTHER being on the planet as well.

When I am somewhat confronted by the actions of others and their choices due to (in my perception) actions based on ego, selfishness, envy, greed and all those rather unpleasant of human behaviours, my goal is to let go of the actions, to not focus on what behaviours are being displayed, and instead focus all my will and attention on the perfect, divine and abundant being that is the true person before me...not the humanness of their choice.

Another instance of what you concentrate on is surely what you will see and then what you will experience more of....yikes!

Just keep at it

So many times this week I have heard people say, "I am so totally over this week, cannot be over fast enough," myself most definitely included in this!!!

Some weeks, it seems, no matter where people are on their journey or the path they may be choosing to take, we all come into sync on the fact that it's been "one of those" weeks or days. *smile* I love the synchronisity of this for many reasons, the main one being that at least I have an inkling that if everyone is having a terrible seeming week, it is probably some major shift going on energetically and not just me going crazy.

You know what I find the most beautiful, amazing and comforting fact abut the path I have chosen? With my faith and belief in the divine, in myself and in my journey, I can look at these weeks or days, I can wish them done, but all the way through, i KNOW that there is something amazing and wonderful and miraculous just around the corner. In this way, "one of those weeks" never turns into one of those years any more.

I am comforted by the perspective that all things must come to an end, even a seemingly bad week. All things we experience are really only a moment in time, no matter how terrible they feel and are at the time.

With this in mind...I just keep at it! That is my entire strategy for dealing with moments in time that are awful whether physically, emotionally or spiritually....just keep going, keep standing, keep dreaming keep moving...just keep at it and find the next moment.

Rose coloured glasses

I have often been accused of having rose coloured glasses, of not seeing "reality", being too trusting and not really knowing what the "real world is about". People have often told me not to be ridiculous, to come back to earth and to get a dose of reality.

My response to this is....why?

You see, in my "reality," the way I believe the world works, you get what you expect from the world.

If you expect to have to fight and struggle...then you will.

If you expect life to be hard...it will be.

If you expect people to let you down...they will.

If you expect that there is nothing for you...then there won't be.

The way I look at the world is to expect miracles and love and joy, and sure, sometimes that means I am a little disappointed when I feel someone didn't "read the script" and at times I feel a little saddened at the way people treat each other (including me). However, my view of the world means that for a majority of the time, I see beauty, love and miracles in each passing moment.

You can only see from the perspective you believe the most in. I make a conscious choice to make that perspective one of hope.

Retraining

There are some habits I used to have such as always denigrating myself and or my achievements, meeting every compliment given to me with a flippant remark because the praise made me uncomfortable, always feeling I had to struggle and fight for everything I had and in order to keep it. I didn't feel that these habits were helpful or beneficial for me. I didn't like the way my brain automatically reacted in self sabotage, and I most certainly didn't want to live an existence like this.....

I kept coming back to the adage that "Nothing changes if nothing changes." For quite some time though, I really didn't know how to change those ingrained patterns of thought and behaviour.

One day, as I was reading, I heard about positive affirmations, using powerfully positive words to create a reality. I have to tell you, I was a complete sceptic  I believed in that moment and in that place of my understanding that if the universe was "so damn helpful" and the divine was REALLY listening, then they would, "know what I meant." *rueful smile* I know right.....what I had not yet remembered is that we are CO-creators, with free will, and in charge of our destinies since we wrote our own contract.

What I decided, was that I would put this "ridiculous notion" to the test.

I picked something small...that I really disliked hugs, hated people in my physical space....and wrote a couple of notes saying "I Love Hugs" on them. I stuck these notes in strategic places around the house like the bathroom mirror, the fridge door, beside my bookcase; in places I knew I would see and read them everyday. I left them there for a couple of months, challenging myself to see how often I could read them during the day. You can guess what happened I am sure...I LOVE hugs *hee hee hee* I didn't realise at first that this was actually WORKING! I figured it out much later and was totally blown away.

So, I tackled some of my "bigger" issues using the same method...and that worked too.

I retrained the way I think using a few pieces of paper and some positive words, and the best thing about it is that I didn't even have to believe it would work for it to work!

The basic premise here is that you will believe some of what you read, more of what you see...but you WILL believe 100% of what you tell yourself...so make it great!

The magic in a piece of cake

I draw often, and, a lot of the time, beautiful and magical beings are the first thing I think of and the first thing that flows from the end of my pen.
I call these automatic drawing, there is no forethought, no planning, no thinking about what to draw and how; the image just appears in front of me and then my hands start itching for pen and paper.

Most often, each image comes with a message, a bit of divine inspiration if you will.

I drew this faery on Sunday and the message she came with is:

"Sometimes, the only magic you need is a piece of cake."

*laughing right now*

I have pondered for a little about what this message could have meant in it's deeper sense. It is so simple I almost let it slip me by. Her message is really clear when it comes right down to it.

To be grateful for the gifts we are given, to see the amazing magic and beauty in the smallest things, and look through the eyes of wonder and delight.

In doing this, we attract to us those things we love; by letting go of negativity, we invite love into our lives.

The bits that bring no joy

As a teacher, there are a few things I really DON'T enjoy abut the job I am required to do. For instance, I don't like marking, playground duty, staff meetings just for the sake of staff meetings and a few other systemic things like that. There are also quite a few things I DON'T like about being the responsible adult in the house either. For instance, I don't like laundry, dishes and several other household jobs that take me away from stuff I would rather be doing.

However, they are a requirement of the institution I work for, and of being the responsible adult, and must be done. I have often viewed these things as a chore; a boring and tedious part of my contract (for which I obviously didn't read the fine print well enough for  *smile*)

Today, tired from a school function last night, I was looking down the barrel of a double whammy *laugh* My house looks somewhat like a hurricane has blown through since I have been doing housework avoidance for a week or two, AND the pile of marking I had to do made Everest look like a mole hill for exactly the same reason. A slight exageration on both counts, but you get my point.

Already tired, the temptation to just walk out into my garden and read a book all day was almost too tempting!

"OK," I told myself, "Big girl pants on and get on with the job!" as well as all of those other things you tell yourself to attempt a task.

I started with a few bits here and there, picked up the dishes and stacked them ("Nah, that's all I can handle of that job."), looked at the laundry on the line, ("Nah, too hot to go out there now") ordered my marking in class groups, ("OK, done with that too") and it seemed I was doing an awful lot of stuffing around, and not a lot of work. I couldn't seem to stop though. I would mark three or four papers, then go and make myself a coffee. While waiting for the kettle, I would wash a few dishes, challenge being, "how many can I wash before the kettle boils?". I would take a five minute break, then mark a few more papers, do a few more dishes, take three things off the washing line and fold them and so on and so on.

All of a sudden, I realised what I had been doing...I had made the whole process a game! How many dishes before the kettle boils, how many clothes off the line before my feet start to burn on the hot concrete (and no, it didn't occur to me to put shoes on, that would have wrecked the game *laugh*), how many papers can I mark before the next ad break on T.V. and so on.

I was also breaking these mammoth seeming tasks into VERY small bite sized chunks.

By 2pm this afternoon, I had finished ALL the jobs, both for housework and for school...yehah!...and Oh my goodness, how did that happen?????

After I finished celebrating the fact that I was done, I did go and sit out in the garden to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. It all of a sudden occured to me (as so many things do as I sit in the garden) that sometimes we do the parts without joy, in order to be able to experience the amazing bits! I couldn't be a teacher if I refused to mark papers or any of those other things...and I LOVE all the other things about teaching. This does not mean that the less joyful parts have to be boring and feel like a chore.

Finding the joy in all that we do, leads to us being able to quickly move onto the things that make our heart sing!

The energy of the universe

In order to tap into the universal source of energy, it's really important (I think) to understand what it is and how it works.

Understand, that this is PURELY my opinion, others may have amazingly unique and varied opinions on what they think this is about, and I am more than happy to hear them...any and all information adds to the total sum, so bring it on if you have something to add. *big smile*

My theory is this, the universe operates completely on one thing...one type of energy...LOVE!

Yep.....LOVE.

So, in order to maximise your impact, to most effectively use universal energy to manifest the reality and life you desire, all you have to do is LOVE!

The only thing that can fix heart break is love.
The only thing that can soothe the wounded soul is love.
The thing that attracts positive experiences is love.
The thing that gives us joy and makes the world shine in bright colours is love.
The thing that is contagious, infectious and easily passed on and shared is love.
Creativity comes from love.
Forgiveness comes from love.

I think of it this way...my body, my heart, my soul are all perfect conductors for this energy. Love can pass into me and revitalise me, and it can flow out of me to heal, comfort and protect. Love can fill me up continuously and is REALLY easy to obtain (through gratitude, hugging, smiling, sharing, laughing, singing, playing, imagining  drawing, reading, seeing, sitting, running, skipping, to name a few). Love recharges my batteries and helps me in the work I do. Love creates a dynamic field of positivity that projects out from me wherever I go making the journey smoother and the impact I have on others magical. I don't have to think about love, I don't have to be without love, I will never run out of love nor can anyone take it away from me. It is plentiful, wonderful and powerful.

Sit for a minute, close your eyes and mentally open the doors to your heart. Feel the love pouring in, surrounding you, permeating every part of your being. Let that love shine out of your eyes and surround you in a magical and colourful swirling vortex. Give it away freely to all of those around you...no one has to be "deserving" of love, just give it away with all of you and feel it bounce back, recycle around and fill you back up. Love is exponential, it doesn't just come back in the same quantity you gave it out, love expands and multiplies and virtually explodes through the world once you let it loose.

When people ask me what my secret is when it comes to managing "difficult" students, I tell them, "I love them, unconditionally, in the way their Mummies do." Love is THAT powerful in bringing about change.

The only thing that is real, and has the power to create powerful change, is love.

With love and light (spreading the good stuff around *smile*)
