A key secret to succeeding in life...

There is no one secret that can be passed from one person to another, that will guarantee or prove successful for every person. This is not a "one size fits all" kind of life (awesomely cool really!). However, having said that, I have found there are some key ingredients which, when added to your overall mix, most certainly add together for having the highest possible chances.

One of these things is looking at the list of things you wish to achieve, from the biggest (reaching thousands with my words of healing and message of love, having children and parents read my stories and discovering the magic within) to the smallest (getting the laundry done and my four year old pixie in bed at a decent hour) and then make some decisions.

Your time is NOT an infinite resource, each moment in time is quite precious and should be treated as such. Making decisions about how you prioritise your time and therefore the things that are the most important to you, is a great way to start ensuring that when you spend time on things they are important things and that you are maximising the time you spend.

There have been times I have been so wrapped up in being supper Mumma, in having home baked goods for the lunch box, having a spotless and ordered house, and being extra super organised about getting us here, and being there etc.  I often find, during these times I am pleased with my "Superness" and yet, these are the times that, when my little one goes to bed, I realise we didn't do much playing, or spending time together.... *REALLY sad face* In short, I realise my prioritising of my time did NOT match with the things I feel are most important, and I feel awful!!!!!

I look at my time as a commodity, valuable beyond compare (and the time of others also). My "to do" list is filled with things I feel are the most important, and this is updated daily to change with my changing priorities.

With this, there are also a LOT of things that I have NO time for, refuse to make time for, and account no priority to at all....

Complaining about "stuff"
Negativity
Self-Doubt
Things I have no control over and am powerless to change.
Worry
Stress
Nastiness

...and a whole heap more, but I know you get the point *smile*

If you don't feel as though you are walking fast enough towards you goal, have a GOOD look at where you are spending the very precious commodity of your time and see if making a few changes might not improve matters.

After all, the clearer you set your intentions and focus on those things you wish to see more of, the faster the universe acts to create the opportunities you need.

Are you waiting for the perfect time?

There are a lot of things I just don't start at times, reason being? Well, I'm waiting for the perfect time, I'm waiting for all of the obstacles in my way to be cleared, and I'm waiting until I can come up with no more objections........

You know the end of that story right? Yep...those things...they don't ever get done.

Someone told me once that I would need several life times in order to do all of the things I want to get done and to pursue all of the things I am interested in...perhaps that's true...but I think I have found the key to getting it all done in this life time with plenty of time to think up other things to do on the way....

You want to know what it is?

I no longer wait.

There IS no such thing as the "perfect time" other than right now!  So, there is no waiting, I don't wait for all the obstacles to be removed, for the path to be clear, for the problems to be solved and all of the pros and cons discussed...not me. I dive in head first, I follow my path, my heart, my impulses and my team and just go, go, go while the impulse has a hold of me. I create, I make, I do, i decide and I just keep on going until the job is done.

While doing this, running headlong, most of the things I saw as obstacles before i began...well they turned out just to be excuses, because when I got to them, most of them were no longer there.

Often, if we feel like we need to wait for the perfect time, it means that our "brain" is trying to keep us locked in our comfort zone, because it thinks it's safer...it might be, but without jumping in, there is no great gain either.

So don't wait, leap in, follow the impulse, walk your path...no, scratch that, RUN, and have a magical journey.

Persistance

One of the key factors I recognised on my unplanned "sabbatical" has been the power in persistence.

Not one of the people seen as achieving all of their worldly goals and reaching for the starts has got there on the first go...really. If there has been someone, I am completely unaware of them *smile*

Putting my intentions forward, safeguarding my dreams, making plans and taking steps is WONDERFUL,  but it all comes to nought if I am willing to give it all up at the first sign of difficulty.

As an early example in my life; I became pregnant with my first son at the age of 19, unwed, having only just begun my university studies, in an extremely devout catholic family...not a great place to find myself *wry grin* I was told I had, "ruined my life" by multiple people (not all my family members, I thought I should clarify) and that there was no use in planning for a future......

Hmmmm..... nope, that option is not for me thanks.

So, things were a LOT different from the plan I had formed and the dreams I envisaged for myself. Things that were easy became a little harder at times, but I simply would NOT relinquish my goal.

Sure, I made some adjustments, took a slightly different road, had some different choices and forks in the road than I may have had if things were different...but this did not change my end goal...and so, I persevered. No matter how hard, no matter how tired, no matter how broke, or how disaffected I felt, I just kept putting one foot in front of the other until I got there six long years later...and ooohhhh, the satisfaction!

With perseverance, I had two amazing things instead of the originally planned one; I had my degrees for the career I am passionate about...but more importantly, I had with me a gorgeous, beautiful, amazing child!!! Wooohoooo, two for the price of one *laugh*

Bottom line is, if the goal you set in your purpose, if it is what you truly want with your whole heart...then persevere, because if you are willing to give up when the going gets a little rough, well then, perhaps the goal was not what you really, really desire??? If it is, then keep taking those steps, don't give up, because the next step may be the one that leads you to the end zone.

Universal life purpose

While we all have a goal we set, a life purpose which we are urged to fulfil and makes our heart leap with joy, I also believe there is a universal life purpose, one that we all share so to speak.

Our common life purpose then is to bring out the best in others. Let me take a moment to note though, that this cannot be achieved through criticism, nor through judgement.

Simply, we are all charged with inspiring each other.

We can do this in oh so many (non intrusive) ways.

  • Use positive and loving words when speaking to, about, or thinking of others.

  • See the light being and the love in all people regardless of their actions.

  • Forgive easily.

  • Love unconditionally.

  • Inspire others to be happy by perusing your own divine happiness, this sends out amazing rays of healing energy.

We are all of one spirit in the end, and we're all in this together. There are so many ways in which we can bring about joy, gratefulness, happiness and to generally lift up the energy levels of others, that once you get started, you can never think of stopping.

It's a pay it forward kind of thing, living your own blessings, respecting yourself and your boundaries, committing to happiness, forgiveness and a life that comes from a place of love means we shine our light on the world and inspire others to do the same with their choices...the results are magnificent.

Not a moment is wasted

I am asked to remember today that not one moment of our time here is a wasted moment whether we are procrastinating over doing something, whether we are in a moment of pain or grief, whether we are in a place or a job we would rather not be in r whether we are in a moment where we feel completely connected and at peace with ourselves and the world...all of it matters and not a moment is wasted.

Each moment we live is a moment we are remembering more about the contract we signed and the path we choose for ourselves. Each moment allows us to more perfectly walk the walk and to grow into being more perfectly us than the moment before. Even if the moment is teaching us what we do not wish for ourselves.

I find myself remembering conversations with my senior art class where I was asking them to show me and demonstrate to me who they are as people, yet without using words or pictures of themselves. The concept title was "Symbol Soup" they were being asked to define who they are and who they choose to be using symbolism and moving away from the literal. Hard ask! However, one of the conversations that emerged as they thought and felt their way through what I asked them to do was the concept of defining who we are, by stating what we are not.

It seems then, that I am asked to remember this conversation to highlight to myself that moments that seem very much like ones I would not possibly have written for myself, and yet I have obviously humanly chosen to be in through free will, are moments where I am able to define my direction, by being confronted by what I "am not" or what I would no longer choose.

I asked the question of my team today, "May I know more, may I rewrite the contract so that I can remember all of the information that led me to sign?" In other words, can I know the whole picture, thus reducing the frustration of following each little step without knowing where it will lead. The answer was simple and immediate..."Yes."

I suddenly woke up to the understanding that the limits in knowledge, foresight and in outcomes all come from me. I CHOOSE to withhold this knowledge from myself at times, and if I can choose to withhold, I can also choose to have full disclosure.

Suddenly, as this thought occurred to me, I felt at peace, and all the things I was concerning me with no longer seemed to matter any more (well at least not in the sense that I need concern myself with the outcome.) I felt freer and lighter. YAY team *smile*

So, I walk into the world with my new set of understandings tomorrow and see where they take me.

By example, not through judging

I am reminded today of the power of just walking my path, focusing on my choices, my understandings and my experiences, to leave a legacy of love and forgiveness in my wake.

It is easy to make judgements about the choices of others and I am so guilty of this at times. I get frustrated and angry, I am saddened and sometimes sickened.

Constantly I am reminded (because I require constant reminders for this one *wry smile*) that the best I can do for anyone, is walk the walk, not just talk the talk.

The impact I choose to leave with others, is one of loving acceptance, peace and quiet strength...to do this, all I have to do, is BE that person.

Each of us travels our own path, all we have to do is love, and shine our light on the world

Honouring yourself

Something that comes up for me quite often is the need to reinforce and honour my own personal boundaries. I am often a bit of a people pleaser, I have faith, trust and belief that people will not act to hurt me, and have trouble seeing it when they do. People have often commented to me that I should expect people to let me down and when they don't, OI will have a nice surprise....to that...I say, "No thanks. That's just not who I am."

Having said that though, I struggle at times to adhere to my own personal boundaries. I find myself doing things I don't want to prioritise time and energy to just because I don't want to let people down. I find that I will put more importance on the need of others, rather than on what I need personally, and a whole lot of other things like this.

What I have relearned lately, is that in doing this, in allowing others to be more important than I am to myself, I give people permission to stampede all over my boundaries.

I have also relearned that I can set a boundary, respectfully stick to it, and not give it any more energy. A dear friend of mine reminded me that all I have to do in these scenarios is set my intention, and then stick to it. Once I have made the decision, it is no longer necessary to think about it, discuss it or to in any other way feed energy into the situation. Done and dusted! Such marvellous advice *smile*

So now, setting the intention to just be me, to stick to my own boundaries and agendas (living from love and light) and to no longer feed energy into situations by over thinking them or discussing them further.

Protect yourself as the butterfly emerges

Several times today I have heard the message, from several different people that you cannot place your complete trust in anyone other than yourself because eventually, people will let you down.....

Oh I cannot tell you how my heart hurts to hear this information passed on.

I cannot say that it is even possible for me to ascribe to this message, however, it did bring to mind an important lesson for me today about protecting myself.

I have found that the further I walk along my chosen path and the more I develop into the true me, with understanding of my divine connection, the more sensitive I seem to be. I am food sensitive (vegetarian only for me now) I am often sound and smell sensitive and I am most definitely sensitive in exposure to nastiness and displays of hurtful behaviour whether towards myself, towards others or just in a movie or TV programme.

Rather than diminishing my capacity to function in the world (the sensitivity that is) this has led me to be more careful about setting boundaries and protecting myself from harm, either emotional or physical.

There are people who attempt to tell me that I live in a fantasy world, that I am not who I claim to be and who attempt to "dream steal" in other ways like telling me not to pursue something, "for my own good" and to "give me a dose of reality." These are not bad people, in fact, some of them are people I love very much, and I do not judge or condemn them for this view of the world.

What I do though, is choose very carefully, the people who are allowed in to "hear" and "see" the real me who is emerging, especially when I feel a little vulnerable and fragile. I place FULL trust in myself, in my divine team and in a few humans I know *smile* who are very special to me. Other people still get the real me, I walk my walk and am authentic in all ways, however, they are not made privy to my thoughts, to my aspirations and to my growth.

As I grow, I choose the people who get to see that growth and walk beside me.

It is not a matter of judgement, it IS a matter of protecting myself. To love without allowing others to abuse me, to give without being taken advantage of, to trust, but not be naive.

I draw on my instinct and my divine connection to help me know the difference here.

Show your pure heart only to those that inspire

The bits that bring no joy

As a teacher, there are a few things I really DON'T enjoy abut the job I am required to do. For instance, I don't like marking, playground duty, staff meetings just for the sake of staff meetings and a few other systemic things like that. There are also quite a few things I DON'T like about being the responsible adult in the house either. For instance, I don't like laundry, dishes and several other household jobs that take me away from stuff I would rather be doing.

However, they are a requirement of the institution I work for, and of being the responsible adult, and must be done. I have often viewed these things as a chore; a boring and tedious part of my contract (for which I obviously didn't read the fine print well enough for  *smile*)

Today, tired from a school function last night, I was looking down the barrel of a double whammy *laugh* My house looks somewhat like a hurricane has blown through since I have been doing housework avoidance for a week or two, AND the pile of marking I had to do made Everest look like a mole hill for exactly the same reason. A slight exageration on both counts, but you get my point.

Already tired, the temptation to just walk out into my garden and read a book all day was almost too tempting!

"OK," I told myself, "Big girl pants on and get on with the job!" as well as all of those other things you tell yourself to attempt a task.

I started with a few bits here and there, picked up the dishes and stacked them ("Nah, that's all I can handle of that job."), looked at the laundry on the line, ("Nah, too hot to go out there now") ordered my marking in class groups, ("OK, done with that too") and it seemed I was doing an awful lot of stuffing around, and not a lot of work. I couldn't seem to stop though. I would mark three or four papers, then go and make myself a coffee. While waiting for the kettle, I would wash a few dishes, challenge being, "how many can I wash before the kettle boils?". I would take a five minute break, then mark a few more papers, do a few more dishes, take three things off the washing line and fold them and so on and so on.

All of a sudden, I realised what I had been doing...I had made the whole process a game! How many dishes before the kettle boils, how many clothes off the line before my feet start to burn on the hot concrete (and no, it didn't occur to me to put shoes on, that would have wrecked the game *laugh*), how many papers can I mark before the next ad break on T.V. and so on.

I was also breaking these mammoth seeming tasks into VERY small bite sized chunks.

By 2pm this afternoon, I had finished ALL the jobs, both for housework and for school...yehah!...and Oh my goodness, how did that happen?????

After I finished celebrating the fact that I was done, I did go and sit out in the garden to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. It all of a sudden occured to me (as so many things do as I sit in the garden) that sometimes we do the parts without joy, in order to be able to experience the amazing bits! I couldn't be a teacher if I refused to mark papers or any of those other things...and I LOVE all the other things about teaching. This does not mean that the less joyful parts have to be boring and feel like a chore.

Finding the joy in all that we do, leads to us being able to quickly move onto the things that make our heart sing!

The little voice inside of you

You know that little voice inside of you that whispers guidance  or sometimes even tells you what is about to happen....and then it DOES happen? You know the voice I mean? The one that says turn left here, even though you had no intention of turning that way, and then you do and everything is perfect because it was the exact short cut you needed to be on time.

You know that voice?

That voice is your soul, your team, the divine that is within you...you can trust it.

Call it intuition, call it signs and messages from your divine team, call it universal energy, call it whatever you will, the fact of the matter is all of us have this voice inside of us, guiding, directing, supporting and assisting.

There is another voice too though...the one that says, "That'll never work," and "tell her she's dreaming," and other things like that. Do you know that voice? That is our brain and ego trying to impose itself upon our conscious mind in order to keep us in a safe place comfort zone, to prevent us taking risks, increasing fear, and basically being negative.

Out of the two, I know which voice I'm choosing to listen to...

Don't forget to ask...

We have this AMAZING divine connection, a whole team of beings willing to help, to heal, to guide, to comfort, to love, to forgive and to just be there!

I know...WOW right???

So why is it that some people don't seem to feel the benefits? I asked myself this question today as I was chatting away to beautiful beings at the markets. Some people's knowledge of their team shone through their eyes, some people seemed to feel as though they were alone or ignored and forgotten, and some people even felt it was/is their job to tell me that everything I believe in is "make believe"....interesting!

The answer when it came, like all answers once you know them, was so completely simple and obvious. The people who seem not to know that they have all of this help, love and comfort available to them...well, they're the ones who forgot to ask for help.

We have this thing called free will, we were all given the gift of making our own choices. The divine won't interfere with that. We have a choice whether we acknowledge our own divine connection or not, we have a choice whether we take the easy road or the hard road, we have choices every minute of every day and they are OURS to make, and the consequences are ours to accept too.

This whole amazing, loving and guiding team, must sit on their hands until you remember to give them permission to help you, to "intervene" as it were. In the mean time, they wait, and they watch, and they love us all the more. The very MINUTE we can open our hearts and give them permission to help...miracles happen.

So don't forget to ask for help, and give your divine team permission to arrange things for you.

Cut loose what no longer serves you

So many time I have made myself a slave to what I thought I "should" (I REALLY have a dislike for that word) do, or to holding on to things just because they had always been there or had always been done that way or other such nonsense.

One day, with the help and advice of a friend, I physically purged my living space. I went through everything with a fine tooth comb, and I was ruthless!!! *mean girl face...laughter*

I threw out things I had been holding on to for years, photographs, stuff from my primary school days, old art work failures, heaps of "stuff" that not only did I no longer use currently, I had no intention of ever using again....phew...what started out as an afternoon, turned into a three day overhaul. I do this every 6 months now, so it is an easier job.

Immediately after I had finished, I felt SO MUCH BETTER! At that stage I was in a pretty down period and I was struggling with getting out of bed each morning let alone living my joy-filled, amazing life *ironic smile*. I cried and carried on the whole time I was throwing things out, luckily my friend was persistent and courageous, she braved the litany of cursing, crying and raging that accompanied each item into the garbage bag, knowing the whole time, the emotional release follows the physical release. In this manner, I cleared the path for the life I live now, by releasing all of those things from my past.

Later, I started to apply this principle to ALL areas of my life...I stop and review every six months or so, and I make decisions about ALL things (people, places, jobs, children, work, blog writing, illustrating, markets, EVERYTHING). If any of those things are no longer suiting my purpose, filling me with joy the majority of the time, that I find myself doing with love and enthusiasm and thinking about them in the same way...then they have to go.

This is not a negative experience...in letting go of the things that no longer walk the same path or help me walk my path, I am opening the doors to new experiences and new people and places that may walk with me for the next stretch of road.

Find your "why"

Looking into the mirror this morning, feeling exceptionally weary and a little bit like going straight back to bed to sleep for a week, I wondered to myself about "what" I could do today to spread more love and light across the globe. I asked myself the "things I should do today, and what I might have on the list of "things" to do for the week and suddenly, I didn't have the heart for any of it.

I saw the change in my reflection immediately and was amazed. The light went out of my eyes, I suddenly looked 103 instead of 36 years old, wrinkles and grey hair showed up far more clearly than they had only a moment ago!!!!!! Ooops.

I made a hasty retreat from the mirror (since it was telling me lies anyway *smile*) and made myself a cuppa, then made a bee line for my garden retreat...phew...and...safe!

I didn't want to think about anything at all, what a nasty surprise to wake up to! So, I sat there with my coffee and my plants, listening to the birds. Feeling much better, I went inside to start some "work" I have illustrations to finish, images to create, school work and marking to complete, a thousand pictures in my head just yearning to come out and a billion other things besides  all of which, on any other day, I would have just launched myself into with gusto and gone about with methodical and enthusiastic aplomb......

I did nothing, I wandered about the house "looking" for something to do?????????????????

OK, back outside with another coffee and the garden.......

So far, this was not looking like it was going to be a productive day...hmmmmm..time for a discussion with my divine team of advisers *laugh* "So, what's going on guys?" I found myself asking, "Procrastinating or doing nothing is not my favourite thing as you know, so a little heads up on what's happening with today if you please."

Immediately a thousand (slight exaggeration  downloads of information, blog posts to write, pictures to draw, creative projects for the markets.....woah...hang on, slow down, ONE AT A TIME PLEASE!

Then there was silence....

Right, let's try again....

I sat there in the silence, repeatedly instructing my brain to go back to sleep and stop interfering, and relaxing my body, breathing deeply and focusing my intention on just ONE step for today....

Over and over, whispered in my mind came the phrase, "Why". It wasn't a question though, it seemed REALLY important, but for the moment I couldn't grasp what I was actually being told. "Why".

Then all of a sudden, with earth shattering clarity it hit me.....FIND YOUR WHY!

Over the last few months I have fretted, worried, shifted, changed, transitioned, moved, restructured, rewritten, redone, adjusted and sorted, been frustrated over "things and stuff" and generally being really irritable that I couldn't seem to do what I felt in my heart was to be done and consequently was seeing no results....*sigh*

All I was being asked to do was to refocus on the "why";  Why do I choose the path I am on? Why is it important? Why am I persisting even though it "seems" difficult right now?

The WHY is the most important thing, details, planning, "stuff" won't make a lick of difference if the "why" is not kept as the clear focus of all that we do.

So I sat down and remembered my why:

"To spread the magic of loving words and the power of just being forgiving. To help others understand they are amazing, powerful and perfect just the way they are. To be the best me I can be"

Suddenly, all was right with the world again...I took a peek in the mirror, yep, back to 36... revitalised, and re-energised the jumbled list of "stuff" was miraculously transformed into a list of priorities in my head with a clear goal, focus and time line.

You see, WHY you do something is FAR more important than HOW. Leave the details to the divine and spend a moment of two remembering WHY. If you can't think of why, time to change the script and rewrite one that includes a really strong why.

You only value what you have to work for

I am sure that everyone has had times in their life where everything seems to be really hard, where every victory has to be fought for and every step forward is a struggle?

During one such moment, sick to death of having to fight for everything and feeling like everything was a struggle, I DEMANDED that my divine team tell me WHY everything had to be so hard, WHY I seemed to have to learn my lessons and remember my knowledge in the most difficult manner.

The answer took me totally by surprise....

I heard it quite clearly, and I suddenly couldn't do anything other than laugh!

The answer was so simple. Things SEEMED hard and it looked as though I had to struggle to make any forward ground because that is exactly what I EXPECTED! Somewhere along the line, I bought into the notion that the only things with value are things that are not easy to obtain. That we cherish only that which we have worked hard for, that nothing worth having is easily obtained...and all of those other clichéd sayings!!!!!!

Bah...

For someone who seemingly "understands" that words and perception create our reality, I had made a serious misunderstanding!

From that moment on, I took the perspective that my life lessons and my journey can be/are easy; the journey is blessedly smooth and free of obstacles and that I will hear and listen to the divine guidance offered to me.

The universe will ALWAYS provide you with what you EXPECT! I choose the easy and joyful journey.

The leap of faith....

There have been some amazingly trying times within my human contract where I have found myself wondering if I had the chance for a cooling off period after I signed...I mean REALLY, who would volunteer for some of this stuff?

One of these times, is the moment of fear or indecision that comes before a really big decision, life change or choice. It happens, I am human so I have to have conversations with my brain and tell it to mind it's own business because heart is in control; I have to see at times through the eyes of comfort and fear before I come to the reality of intuition and divine guidance. I have terrible self doubt at times (I mean...I talk to angels...to most people, that's NOT normal *laugh*) and also times where I feel that life is a bit black and bleak and despite all my efforts and those of my divine team, I have to ride it out.

One of the most frightening moments is to be standing on the edge of a drop off (metaphorically) and seeing that across the chasm is the goal or aspiration where the journey continues.

What I was told/reminded of today was that I can, if I choose, just jump, I may start to fall a bit; in that moment, all I have to do is believe, have faith in myself and the divine team guiding my journey. I imagine as I am standing at the edge, that I have wings, sometimes I see them clearly and then I can take a running jump off the edge and soar across...not hard when you have wings. In those moments when I can't feel my wings and I am plagued by self doubt, fear, anger, guilt...I make the choice to jump anyway and feel them growing as I learn...

It sometimes takes courage to be great and live your choice....but as you jump off the edge of the precipice, you will feel your wings start to grow, tested by your circumstance, you find the strength you need.

Acknowledge that you have all you need

We are, each of us, born with all the knowledge we need in order to be our perfect divine selves, and to live our perfect divine life.

It is a sad shame sometimes, that along the path of living this human life, that we sometimes forget what we know, and sometimes we bury it so deep that we feel lost and confused.

This is why instead of saying, "I learnt" something, I say that I "remembered" it.

All that is required to tap into this store of remembered information is to learn to listen to the messages our body and soul send us. To follow the little impulses and instincts that each of us feel every day within every situation. Sometimes, I have been so good at burying or ignoring these messages, that it will take an event for me to remember to listen again.

It is so easy to let the business and noisiness of life get in the way; to establish routines of safety and to not operate outside them. Our brain is, of course, also adding to the confusion and attempting to add fear, guilt, shame and hatred to blur the message as well....no wonder I feel a little lost sometimes *wry smile*

All that we need in order to live the perfect and joy filled life that is our birthright, is to remember to listen...or, as the case may be, relearn how to listen...all that we need is encoded within us, all the knowledge, wisdom, experience and courage...we just have to remember.

Anything is possible

"It would be lovely to just live the life I want without a thought in the world for everything else wouldn't it? But THIS is my reality, like it or not, these are the cards I was dealt and the hand I need to play."

This statement was made to me just recently...my heart sank, my throat grew tight and I managed to mumble some appropriate reply before I walked away.

Another person who has decided to "settle" for what they think they were given.

The truth is, whether you wish to believe it or not, we have a choice in how we live our lives AND we were given the power to change it.

The only dictate, the only "thing" we were dealt, is the power and ability to choose. The only instructions we were given is to live happy and joyful lives, and in so doing, bring the light and love of our joy to others.

I don't really know how to go about changing the mind of someone who chooses to believe there is nothing else for them, and I don't think it is even my right to try. Change is a personal thing, something that happens only from within.

I know, and believe that we have the power to change the way our life is currently and create the future we desire...for me...this is EVERYTHING.

You did your best

Sometimes we get so caught up in our journey and our need to remember or learn new skills that we forget something REALLY important.

Every now and again it is a great and amazing part of our journey to stop and take a quick glance behind us. Think of it a little like driving a car; there is the front windscreen, but there is also a rear view mirror. While it is essential to keep eyes forward most of the time in order to navigate and to keep focused on where we're going, just like driving a car, it is just as important to take a quick glance to the back and sides on occasion in order to be able to see our progress!

Take a minute or two to really LOOK at how far you have come. SEE the journey you have made and give yourself a pat on the back. ACKNOWLEDGE the effort you went to and the moments that have been and gone. Even if you perceive you have failed, give thanks for and credit to, the effort and learning that have happened along the way.

We aren't required to be perfect. My goal is to be the best example of a HUMAN BEING that I can be.

P.S. I was thinking of a gorgeous being I know who loves all things car, and I couldn't stay away from this analogy...you know who you are ;)

Downloads

I have these moments sometimes, moments when I just seem to know exactly what is going to transpire, the exact right thing to say or do, the correct direction to take and all of the consequences that go with all of the possible options. I call these moments downloads ever since a beautiful friend of mine first mentioned the term. It really seemed to fit the circumstances. One moment I'm standing there (or whatever *smile*) and the next moment I am in the middle of actions or words I didn't even know were there or didn't know were needed.

These moments are the moments in time when I feel the closest to my divine team; so close that they are almost a tangible presence by my side. When I was just a bit younger, I was always at a loss to explain what was going on and some times, as a result, I did not act on the information I had because I didn't know or acknowledge where the information came from. I also faced a great deal of frustration at times because I KNEW exactly what would work or the right information, residing in a child's body and knowing answers you had no "tangible" way of knowing comes with some downfalls when you are trying to tell the adults around you what they need to know to "fix" the problem *laugh* I am sure you can imagine.

I am sure there have been moments in time where you have felt a similar experience. Sometimes we call it precognition, prescience, clairvoyance (really don't like that word), psychic....whatever... the important thing is not the name we give these moments, but allowing ourselves to trust this information as having a divine source.

These are the moments in time where everything is working perfectly, and like all skills, once practised, it gets easier and easier. Being able to listen to intuitive sparks and trust that the information you are receiving is genuine and guidance is a beautiful moment that helps the journey become smoother.
